The very knowledge of being infected with HIV fills many with despair and depression. They start feeling the end of life near. Desperation and despair do not help anything. But now it is not so. There are many people in the district who got HIV infected due to some reason but now they are leading a happy life. ART (Anti Retroviral Treatment) Center running in government hospitals is becoming helpful for the patients.
Explain that World AIDS Day is celebrated every year on December 1 with the aim of preventing HIV infection, AIDS and removing such misconceptions. By making more and more people aware in the district, facilities for timely treatment, check-up etc. are being provided through ART in Deendayal Upadhyay District Hospital, BHU Hospital. Together, more than 500 new patients have been registered this year at both the places. In which the registration figure in BHU itself is 434.
