In the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl in Ghaziabad’s Khoda area a year ago, the Paxo court has sentenced two convicts to life imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on both the convicts. A separate trial is going on for the third accused in the case, while a juvenile is in a juvenile home and the child’s maternal aunt is still absconding.
Despite being neighbours, the accused raped the girl seeing her alone and then continued to do so for eight months, due to which she became pregnant at the age of just 11 and gave birth to a child at the age of reading, writing, playing and jumping. Their heinous act ruined the girl child’s childhood and entire life… Commenting on this, Special Judge (Poxo Act) Harsh Vardhan on Monday afternoon sentenced both the convicts to life imprisonment for the gang rape.
Both the convicts, aged 19 and 21, residents of Khoda, are real brothers and college students. They will also have to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 each. This one lakh rupees will be given to the victim girl child as compensation. This decision came in 110 days after the FIR was registered at Khoda police station on September 5, 2022.
Both the accused brothers were arrested the next day on September 6. Since then he is in jail. Special Public Prosecutor Harish Kumar said that 15 witnesses were presented on behalf of the prosecution. The most important evidence was the DNA report. This revealed that the father of the child who was given birth by the girl is the elder (21 years old) of the two convicted brothers.
