Due to possible fog, 18 trains passing through North Central Railway (NCR) zone have been cancelled. This system became effective from Thursday, December 1. This decision of the Railways caused more trouble to N passengers, who had already booked their tickets. According to an estimate, during the next three months, about 11 thousand tickets booked from all the stations of NCR have been cancelled. People have started reaching the reservation counter of the railway to get the ticket canceled.
It is being told that about 70 per cent of the canceled tickets are e-tickets. Now for his refund, the passengers are worried as to how it will happen. Although according to the rules of the railway, if the train is canceled then the refund comes in 48 hours. On the other hand, Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) member Pawan Srivastava has raised the question that when the Railways knows that it has to cancel trains from December 1, then why its booking was not stopped in advance.
Had this been the case, passengers would have got their tickets booked in other trains. It would have been better if the reservations in the concerned trains were stopped four months in advance. Now with this decision those who have got counter tickets will have to stand in line again and get their reservation cancelled.
