Dhawankar | Dhawankar episode: Administration's 'time pass' in the name of investigation; Haven't achieved anything so far. Navabharat (New India)

Nagpur. Prof. of Mass Communication Department at RTM Nagpur University. In the case of recovery of lakhs of rupees by Dharmesh Dhawankar to the professors by showing fear of their complaint, till now the administration is running only ‘time pass’. Two committees were formed but both did not investigate. Meanwhile, Dhawankar also tried to destroy the evidence related to the case. Not only this, even after a month, the university did not lodge a police complaint against Dhawankar.

Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council, held a meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday and directed to constitute a committee of the Pro-Vice Chancellor to investigate the Dhawankar case, but before that the committees have been constituted twice by the university. Both the committees did not even start the investigation. Now the Pro-Vice Chancellor’s committee will investigate the matter.

On the other hand, since the incident, the officials of Ajni police station have been demanding complete information from the university administration, but the administration is constantly evading. Not only this, the university did not even file a complaint with the police. It is said that Dhawankar had made phone calls from the university office for recovery from the professors. Along with this, some professors also came in his department. After the incident, the CCTVs installed in the department were switched off. Due to getting a month’s time, there is information that the evidence related to the phone will also be destroyed. It is clear from the delay in the case that the university administration itself is making all efforts to save Dhawankar.

Case not registered in police: CP

In a meeting held in Mumbai on Wednesday, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil had talked about meeting with the investigating officer and the police commissioner to get information regarding the case. Meanwhile, when the Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar was contacted, he told that he is getting information about the matter, but till now the case has not been registered in the police.

It is noteworthy that in the Dhawankar case, ‘pressure system’ is being used since the beginning, but since the seriousness shown by the Deputy Chairman of the Opposition, it is expected that action will be taken against the ‘extortionist’ Dhawankar.
