Maharashtra: Mumbai, known as the city of dreams, is a center of attraction for everyone. Many people go to Mumbai to fly their dreams. In such a situation, today we have brought a big news for Mumbaikars, which is going to have a direct impact on their pocket. Yes, where some time ago we had informed you that the prices of domestic-commercial gas cylinders have increased in Mumbai, now the news is that the prices of buffalo milk have also increased here. Let us know what is the latest price…

Milk costlier by Rs 5 in Mumbai

Let us tell you that the wholesale price of buffalo milk in Mumbai has increased by Rs 5 per liter from Tuesday midnight. As such, it can now significantly affect the entire food industry that depends on it as a raw material. The Mumbai Milk Producers’ Association (MMPA) had announced a steep hike in the wholesale price of buffalo milk last Friday.

around Rs 90 per liter

MMPA executive committee member CK Singh said- The wholesale price of milk will be increased from Rs 80 per liter to Rs 85 per liter and this will be applicable till 31st August. This will then lead to an increase in the retail market for creamy fresh buffalo milk to over 3,000 retailers in Mumbai. Which will now be around Rs 90 per liter from Rs 85 per liter from March 1. In such a situation, now the direct impact of this inflation is going to fall on all other milk products.

Big prices for ‘these’ goods

In this way, the common consumer will be affected by this increase in the rapidly increasing price. Because along with milk, other dairy products will also become costlier. Yes, let us tell you that MMPA Treasurer Abdul Jabbar Chhawaniwala said – This will also affect the rates of tea-coffee-milkshakes etc. served in restaurants, pavement vendors or small hotels, in such a situation, there is every possibility that the price of milk will increase. Tea-coffee-milkshakes can also become expensive due to increase.

Sweets will also be expensive

It is obvious that we all know that most of the sweets are made of milk only. Dairy products like khawa, paneer, peda, sweets like barfi, some North Indian or Bengali sweets may now increase in price. Mahesh Tiwari, chief milk producer in north Mumbai, said the price hike was on the eve of some festivals and weddings. This will be affected by the increase in the wholesale prices of milk from Wednesday.

general public directly affected

It may be noted that this is the second major increase in MMPA after September 2022. When the wholesale price of buffalo milk was increased from Rs 75 per liter to Rs 80 per litre, the household budget of the poor and middle class families has come to a standstill. On the other hand, in February 2023, all major cow milk producers unions in Maharashtra as well as other big branded producers have increased the price of cow milk by at least Rs 2 per litre. In such a situation, the general public is being directly affected by this rising inflation.
