The Enforcement Directorate team probing the money laundering case on Friday questioned Mukhtar Ansari’s chartered accountant. In the inquiry which lasted for three hours, questions were raised by showing the balance sheet of other mafia firms including Vikas Construction. After this both were interrogated by sitting face to face. Mukhtar’s CA was called after issuing summons. In this sequence, he reached the ED’s office in Civil Lines on Friday. Here he was first interrogated by showing the balance sheet of other firms including Vikas Construction related to the mafia.
It was asked from where the money came in these firms and how and through which means the money was spent. On the other hand, after the extension of the custody remand period, Mukhtar and his CA were also interrogated by sitting face to face. Questions were fired from both. Questions were asked to Mukhtar regarding the answers received from the CA. Similarly, whatever information was given by Mukhtar, the CA was questioned. Sources say that in the next few days, many other close relatives of Mukhtar can also be called for questioning by issuing summons.
On the other hand, his wife Afsha Ansari can also be tightened. Actually Afsha was called for questioning by issuing summons but she did not appear before ED officers. Son Abbas and Mukhtar were also asked questions about him but both denied having any information.
