A bike-borne youth shot a businessman returning home after closing his shop. The bullet hit the businessman in the left side of his chest. His condition is said to be serious. The doctor of the Community Health Center referred to the district hospital.
The incident took place on Thursday night at around eight o’clock at the city’s Adarsh intersection. Shubham Gupta (25), son of Suresh Gupta, a resident of Bhathat police station in Gorakhpur district, lives at the house of Rajaram Gupta, a resident of the mosque ward of Nana Nagar. Shubham has opened a cosmetics shop behind Ramji Sahai PG College in the city.
He is being told a dispute over a transaction with a shopkeeper next door. After closing the shop at night, Shubham went to Adarsh Crossroads to collect money from someone, where a young man riding a bike stopped him. He opened fire on Shubham with a pistol. He bled and fell on the road. The bullet hit the young man’s chest.
On the information of the incident, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital. In the case, the police registered a case of murderous attack on Krishna Pandey, a resident of Machharhatta ward, on the Tahrir of injured Shubham’s maternal grandfather, Rajaram Gupta. In-charge Inspector Umesh Vajpayee said that the police is trying to arrest the attacker by registering a case.
