The fasting of ‘Masik Durgashtami’ dedicated to Maa Durga holds special significance in Hinduism. The fast of ‘Masik Durgashtami’ is observed on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of every month. This time the second ‘Masik Durgashtami’ fast of Phalgun month is on 27th February, Monday.
On this day, devotees worship Maa Durga with rituals, pray to her, and keep fast throughout the day. On this day, wake up early in the morning and take a bath, and then purify the place of worship by sprinkling Ganges water. After this, light a lamp in the temple of the house.
