In Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district, the sub-inspector and two constables were suspended for beating up the personal secretary of a Member of Parliament. In fact, beating the elder brother of the personal secretary of Etah MP Rajveer Singh cost the police dearly. The SSP has suspended the toll post in-charge and two constables with immediate effect. The victim has also given a complaint in the robbery case against the suspended policemen and the assistant of the police.
The case pertains to Andhra Ki Garhi village under Naujheel police station area. Veer Bahadur, a resident of the village, was sitting in the canter on the evening of 17 February to go to Mathura from Bajna Kat. Police tried to stop the canter at Mant toll of Yamuna Expressway. When the canter driver did not stop the vehicle, the toll post in-charge and the policemen chased them and got them stopped near Mile Stone 103. After this the policemen started beating the driver mercilessly.
When Veer Bahadur, who was sitting in the canter as a passenger, taunted the policemen, the toll post in-charge Rajat Dubey, constable Shivam, constable Kuldeep and the police colleague started beating him. To defend himself, he introduced himself as the brother of the private secretary of the Etah MP. But, the policemen did not listen to one. After beating, he was also kept in the police station at night. On February 18, he was arrested for breach of the peace. On being found guilty in the case, SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey has suspended the outpost in-charge and both the constables.
SSP took action after CO’s investigation report
On receiving the news of personal secretary Man Singh Faujdar’s brother being beaten up, the MP asked the SSP to take action. Taking cognizance of this, the SSP got the CO Ravikant Parashar investigated. Based on their investigation report, the SSP took action against the three policemen.
MP’s son Sandeep is the minister in charge of Mathura
MP’s son Sandeep Singh is Basic Education Minister in the state government. The special thing is that Sandeep Singh is also the minister in charge of the district in which his personal secretary Man Singh Faujdar’s elder brother Veer Bahadur Singh was beaten up by the policemen.
The victim gave a complaint of looting Rs 1280
The personal secretary of the MP said that his brother Veer Bahadur Singh has given a complaint against the policemen suspended in Maant police station and Shailendra resident Dewankalan, Jamunapar for looting Rs 1280. However, no case was registered in this matter till late evening.
