In protest against the death of a newborn due to routine vaccination at Green Land Hospital and Research Center in Karim Nagar, Chargaon in Gorakhpur district, the relatives on Friday protested at the DM office and demanded justice. The DM has sought a complete report from the CMO within 24 hours. Relatives say that a complaint was made to the Chief Minister in the Janata Darbar, but till now the case has not been registered.
The relatives have alleged that Green Land Hospital belongs to Dr. Sudhir Gupta of the Medical College. The newborn was vaccinated in this hospital. After this his health deteriorated and he died during treatment at the Medical College.
The relatives demanded from the DM that a magisterial inquiry should be conducted into the matter after taking out the CCTV footage of the hospital. Also, a case should be registered against Dr. Sudhir Gupta.
The child’s father Saurabh Kumar Rai said that he had also met the Chief Minister regarding the matter. He also directed to investigate and take action, but no action has been taken so far. A written complaint has been made in the Chiluatal police station.
