Gorakhpur News: Agency decided to make six railway stations including Gorakhpur as city centers

Preparations have intensified to develop six stations including Gorakhpur of North Eastern Railway as city centres. The Gati Shakti unit monitoring it has appointed M/s Arinem Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd as consultant for technical and financial feasibility studies at Gorakhpur and Gonda junctions. The firm will prepare a detailed project report along with master planning, architectural designing of the station, based on which further work will be done.

According to the plan of the railway, a roof plaza is to be built above the tracks. Trains will run on the railway tracks and people will sit upstairs and have breakfast. Not only this, children will play and adults will also be seen shopping. The purpose of this is that the crowd should not gather on the platforms of the railway stations. A big screen will be installed in the Roof Plaza on which information about trains will be displayed.

Along with face-uplifting the station, it will also have a glimpse of local cultural and historical heritage. In this, the historical building of the station will also be preserved. An attractive second gate will also be constructed to connect both the parts of the city. Airport-like lounges will be made for the convenience of the passengers.

Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway said that the work of redevelopment of Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Gonda, Gomtinagar, Lucknow Junction and Kathgodam railway stations of North Eastern Railway is to be done. M/s ADMAC Engineering Consultant (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed for the redevelopment work of Chhapra station of Varanasi division while Gomtinagar, Lucknow Jn. And the work of redevelopment of Charbagh and Kathgodam stations is being done by the Railland Development Authority. The main objective of the station redevelopment is to develop the station as a city centre, which will act as a link between the two parts of the city.
