Mirpur. Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been released (removed from the team) from the Indian team for the three ODI series against Bangladesh. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) gave this information on Sunday. Pant has been released after consultation with the BCCI medical team and his replacement has not been sought.

Rishabh Pant is struggling

Why this happened, at the moment there are no clear indications on this.,Rishabh Pant has been seen struggling a lot in limited overs cricket in recent times., Rishabh Pant got a chance in the playing XI against Zimbabwe and England in the T20 World Cup 2022., In both the matches, Pant could not capitalize on the opportunity and could only score a total of 9 runs., Then on the tour of New Zealand also he was disappointed and he was able to add a total of 42 runs including four innings of T20 and ODI.,

What did you say BCCI has

The BCCI said in a press release, “After consultation with the BCCI medical team, Rishabh Pant has been released from the ODI team. He will join the team ahead of the Test series. His substitute has not been sought.” Left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Axar Patel was also unavailable for selection in the first ODI against Bangladesh.

According to sources, Akshar had injured his ribs while batting in the nets and is recovering from it. No reason has been given for Pant’s release from the team but he was the only player in the team to play all formats who was not given a break after the T20 World Cup in Australia last month. Players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested after the T20 World Cup semi-final loss against England. Pant, however, left for New Zealand with the team for the six limited-overs matches. India and Bangladesh also have to play two Tests after three ODIs.
