Wheat sowing has started, but there is shortage of fertilizers in the market. For fertilizers, farmers are visiting resource cooperative societies and private shops. Many farmers are alleging that the private shopkeepers are charging a higher price for DAP and Urea. At the same time, the Agriculture Department is unaware of this matter.

Wheat sowing gets faster after 15th November. The farmers who have already made arrangements for fertilizers and seeds are sowing, but those who have not bought fertilizers are finding it difficult. If 200 bags of fertilizers are coming to the cooperative societies, then 300 farmers are reaching to collect them.

Awadhesh Rai of Kaudiram and Rajkishore Mishra of Lalpur village complained to the District Agriculture Officer that fertilizer shops in Bansgaon block were charging arbitrary prices. Urea is being sold for Rs.300 a bag at a fertilizer shop in Majhganwa of Gagaha block. While DAP is being sold for more than 1,450.

Rudal Yadav of Riyaon village told that the shopkeeper has given a sack of urea for Rs.300. The Haridwar soldier of the same village told that he went to many shops for fertilizers, but could not find them. Due to this, sowing is not being done on time.

Farmers should not worry, they will get enough fertilizer
District Agriculture Officer Devendra Pratap Singh said that we were not aware that the stockists were giving fertilizers to the shopkeepers by charging a higher price. Will get the matter investigated. Racks of DAP are continuously coming in the district. Farmers should not worry, they will get fertilizers in sufficient quantity.

AR Sunil Gupta said that the district has got 900 MT DAP. Manure has been sent to 25 committees. Fertilizer has reached all the committees on Friday. Even after that the rake is coming. There will be no shortage of fertilizers.
