Where did this controversy start
Let us tell you that the Chief Minister of Karnataka has passed a resolution. In which some villages of Maharashtra’s Sangli district, which are facing water crisis, have demanded merger in Karnataka. After which the dispute started between the leaders of both the states. However, on this matter, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra refuted Bommai’s claims and said that no village has demanded merger with Karnataka in the recent past.
No village of Maharashtra will go to Karnataka
It is noteworthy that Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also said earlier that no village in Maharashtra would go to Karnataka. The state government will fight vigorously in the Supreme Court to get Marathi speaking villages including Belgaum-Karwar-Nipani. After which now the statement of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has come to the fore.
