Maharashtra : The ongoing border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka (Maharashtra-Karnataka Border) is increasing day by day. Talking to reporters on Thursday amid the ongoing controversy, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, ‘We are working to provide justice to the Marathi people in the border areas. Along with this, he has talked about solving the problems of 40 villages and not allowing even a piece of land to be taken away.

Won’t let anyone take even an inch of space

Eknath Shinde also said, ‘It is the responsibility of our government to solve the problems of 40 villages.’ At the same time, he said that his government will not allow anyone to take even an inch of space from Maharashtra. Let us tell you that after Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai claimed 40 villages in Maharashtra, there has been a war of words between both Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Bommai over the decades-old border dispute.

Where did this controversy start

Let us tell you that the Chief Minister of Karnataka has passed a resolution. In which some villages of Maharashtra’s Sangli district, which are facing water crisis, have demanded merger in Karnataka. After which the dispute started between the leaders of both the states. However, on this matter, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra refuted Bommai’s claims and said that no village has demanded merger with Karnataka in the recent past.

No village of Maharashtra will go to Karnataka

It is noteworthy that Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also said earlier that no village in Maharashtra would go to Karnataka. The state government will fight vigorously in the Supreme Court to get Marathi speaking villages including Belgaum-Karwar-Nipani. After which now the statement of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has come to the fore.
