New Delhi. About 90 days after the CBI filed the charge sheet in the Delhi Excise Policy case, now Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been called for questioning. In the same case, CBI will interrogate Manish Sisodia tomorrow i.e. on Sunday. Information in this regard was tweeted by Manish Sisodia himself today.

He wrote, “CBI has called again yesterday. They have used the full power of CBI and ED against me. Home raided, bank locker searched, nothing against me found anywhere. I have made arrangements for good education for the children of Delhi. They want to stop him. I have always cooperated with the investigation and will continue to do so.”

Significantly, he has not been made an accused in the CBI charge sheet. However, in this regard, the investigating agency said that its investigation is still going on and the role of other accused in the alleged crime is also being decided. At the same time, CM Arvind Kejriwal himself had claimed that CBI has given clean chit to Manish Sisodia. In fact, in a press conference, Arvind Kejriwal had said, “Manish Sisodia’s name is not there in the charge sheet of the liquor scam, so in a way CBI has given a clean chit to Manish Sisodia.”

Please inform that, arrested businessmen Vijay Nair and Abhishek Boinapalli are among the 7 accused named in the charge sheet. It is alleged that the Delhi government’s policy of granting licenses to liquor traders benefitted some dealers who allegedly paid bribes for the same. The allegation was strongly denied by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

A CBI spokesperson on the matter said, “It is also alleged that irregularities were committed including amendment of excise policy, giving undue benefits to licensees, exemption/reduction in license fee, extension of L-1 license without approval etc.” “It is also alleged that the illegal benefits derived from these acts were passed on to the concerned public servants by the private parties by making false entries in their books of accounts,” the spokesperson said.

On the other hand, CM Arvind Kejriwal had also claimed on the matter that, “About 800 officers of CBI and ED are working on this case for the last 4 months. These officers are working 24 hours. He was given only one task to bring any evidence against Manish Sisodia. Manish Sisodia has to be arrested. At present, the CBI has called Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for questioning on Sunday.
