The holy festival of Mahashivratri is being celebrated across the country today. Long queues of devotees have formed since night to have a glimpse of Baba at Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi. Today the festival is being celebrated in all the pagodas of Kashi. Shiv Baraat will also be taken out in Banaras.
Mangala Aarti of Baba Vishwanath was performed in the morning. The whole city reverberated with the announcement of Har Har Mahadev.

Why is the fast of Shivratri called?
