Kanpur’s Panki police arrested the maternal uncle-nephew and the woman while disclosing the murder case of Gangaganj resident Deepak alias Pappu (25). The accused have confessed to killing Deepak in connection with illegal relations. ACP Panki Nishank Sharma told reporters that Deepak, the middle son of Panki Gangaganj Part-II resident Ramsingh, worked in a factory located in Panki Industrial Area. His body was found on Saturday morning in an empty plot located 200 meters from the house. The police had registered a murder report against the unknown.

The investigation team came to know that Pappu had a love affair with a widow living in the locality. Pappu used to abuse her son Pankaj alias Golu after reaching the woman’s house in an inebriated condition. He also used to take money by threatening to defame him in the society.

On January 1, Pappu reached home drunk and created a ruckus. Fed up with the day-to-day disputes, Pankaj along with his maternal uncle Badan Singh, resident of Sachendi conspired to kill Pappu. Meanwhile, on January 13, again at around eight o’clock in the night, Pappu called Pankaj’s mother and demanded money while abusing her.

Pankaj called her home. He along with his maternal uncle reached the vacant plot with him. Where he was murdered after giving alcohol under the conspiracy. After this he absconded. Police arrested the maternal uncle, nephew and the woman with the help of surveillance and sent them to jail. Other criminal cases including NDPS, molestation, POCSO Act are also registered against the accused in Panki and Maharajpur.
