Importance of Sindoor in Chhath Puja

Actually, vermilion is considered a sign of honey. In Chhath Puja, women apply long vermilion from the nose to the mang. It is believed that by filling long vermilion in the demand, the husband’s life is prolonged. It is said that married women should wear vermilion long and in such a way that it is visible to all. Starting from the forehead, this sindoor should be filled for as long as the demand is. For the longevity of the husband, fasting women apply vermilion till the nose on the auspicious occasion of Chhath.
