Nagpur. The Kotwal of the Patwari office located in Digdoh, Hingna was arrested red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau team while accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000. The arrested accused was said to be Chandrashekhar Dewan Pardhi (32). He works on the post of Kotwal in Digdoh Patwari office of Hingna Tehsil. The complainant living in Jaitala complex has a plot in Vangarwadi of Ekatmatanagar of Digdoh.
The complainant had gone to the Patwari office to get the village map of the plot. Chandrashekhar demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 in lieu of providing the documents. The complainant returned on the pretext of not having money and complained to the ACB. The ACB team immediately did the verification. On Thursday evening, a trap was laid at IC Chowk of MIDC to catch Chandrashekhar red handed.
The ACB team nabbed him as soon as he took the bribe amount in hand. A case was registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the MIDC police station. DySP Anamika Mirzapure, Inspector Praveen Lakde, Preeti Shende, Sarang Balpande, Geeta Chowdhary, Karuna Sahare, Deepali Bhagat and Harshalata Bhardkar took action under the guidance of SP Rahul Maknikar and Additional SP Madhukari Geete.
