Shivam Singh, one of the accused in the shooting of CSC director Virendra Rajbhar at Harigaon under Parshurampur police station area in Basti district, was arrested by the police in an encounter near Dhenugaon in the early hours of Tuesday. He is shot in the leg.

For treatment, the police team first took him to CHC Parshurampur, from where he was referred to the district hospital. During the encounter, a constable Vijay Kumar was also shot in the arm. He has also been taken to the district hospital for treatment.

The caught miscreant Shivam is a resident of Padri Babu village of this police station area. In 2019, he was sent to jail along with his father, uncle and others in the Shivpal Singh murder case of the village. He was out these days after being released on bail.

Let us tell you that on Monday afternoon, two miscreants who arrived on a bike confused the CSC operator by saying that they would withdraw money. Meanwhile, a miscreant put a pistol on the operator’s temple. When the adjacent shopkeepers reached for help, the miscreants shot the CSC operator in the leg and ran away.
