The Allahabad High Court took a serious note of the change of one page of the draft after the award of the settlement in the National Lok Adalat and stayed the settlement award and directed to maintain the status quo of the land. The court has sought response from the opposition on the petition in four weeks. The next hearing of the petition will be on March 14. The court has directed District Judge Mau to take the file of Lok Adalat in his custody and present the sealed cover report along with records of in-house inquiry.
Justice Ajit Kumar has given this order on the petition of Umashankar Pandey. On behalf of the petitioner, it was said that there was an agreement between the two parties regarding the land in the Lok Adalat with the signatures of both the parties. After this a page of the agreement was changed. which is not signed by the parties. The petitioner applied for withdrawal of the award order, which was rejected. When the revision petition was also rejected, this petition was filed. The court has sought a sealed report from the district judge.
