The infamous mafia of Eastern Uttar Pradesh Atiq Ahmed and his MLA brother Ashraf have deep ties with Aligarh. Atiq’s real sister lives in the Civil Lines area, where there has been movement of Atiq and his family members in various events. Apart from this, Atiq has also had close relations with a family of Atrauli.
After this information of Prayagraj Police, the District Police is alert and every activity of the people associated with Atiq is being monitored. Police have come to know that with the help of these contacts, after the MLA Rajupal murder case, Atiq’s operatives had absconded in the district.
On the one hand, the Prayagraj police are directly monitoring these close relatives of Atiq through surveillance, while the Civil Lines police have also been asked to keep vigil on Atiq’s sister’s house. However, there is no suspect movement shortly before or after the murder of Umesh Pal. Still the police is taking vigilance.
If police sources are to be believed, after the murder of Raju Pal, some of his henchmen and family members stayed in Aligarh and fled to some place in Atrauli. But at that time these people were not caught by the police. Again after the latest developments, the whereabouts of Atiq’s sister are being monitored. In this regard, Inspector Civil Lines told that the help sought by the Prayagraj Police will be given.
