In 2019, Azam Khan contested the Lok Sabha elections from Rampur parliamentary seat while being an MLA. After winning the Lok Sabha elections, he left the assembly seat. In which Azam Khan’s wife Dr. Tajin Fatma had won. While being an MP in the 2022 assembly elections, Azam Khan contested the assembly elections and won. After this he left the Lok Sabha seat. After the resignation of Azam Khan, the Lok Sabha by-election was held in May 2022, in which the BJP won.

After this, Azam Khan was sentenced to three years by the court for giving hate speech. After which his legislature went away. After this, the by-election was held on the Rampur assembly seat in the month of December. The victory in this by-election was also in the hands of the BJP. Now the legislature of Azam Khan’s son and SP MLA from Swar seat is also known to be certain. After this, the bugle of by-election will sound on Swar seat. The political buzz has already started in this.
