However, according to the Meteorological Department, the relief that people get from the cold will not last for long. Soon the harsh winter will again force people to chill. A drop of four to six degrees in temperature is possible during the next two-three days.

In view of the situation, a yellow alert has been issued in several districts including Azamgarh, Mau and Ballia from January 16 to 19. In the districts surrounding Purvanchal including Varanasi, there has been good sunshine during the day for the last three-four days. Even the westerly winds are not blowing. The temperature also continues to rise. Because of this people are feeling relieved.

Heavy snowfall started in hilly states

The weather was similar on Saturday as well. Meteorologist SN Pandey says that after two days the weather pattern will change once again. There is a possibility of increasing cold along with dense fog. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the activation of Western Disturbance, heavy snowfall has started in the hilly states.
