Under the food processing industry policy issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, now food units will get a subsidy of up to five crore rupees. On Friday, a meeting of entrepreneurs of the Indian Industries Association was held at Vinayak Plaza, Maldahiya. The entrepreneurs appreciated this decision of the government and said that the suggestion of the IIA has been largely accepted by the government.

IIA National Vice President RK Chowdhary said that the food processing policy which has come after the MSME policy is also very good. The capital subsidy of 35 percent (maximum five crore) by the government will give a big boost to the food processing industry and will prove to be very helpful in making Uttar Pradesh a trillion economy.

National Secretary Rajesh Bhatia said that in the new policy, it is a commendable effort of the government to grant 50 percent of the cost in setting up solar power plants of food processing industries and 90 percent of the cost in women-owned industries. This will give a boost to food processing industries as well as solar energy.
