A female passenger died on Friday due to sudden health deterioration in a Spice Jet flight going from Patna to Amritsar. The emergency landing of the aircraft took place at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Babatpur, Varanasi. The dead body has been kept at the airport, after the paperwork is done on Saturday, the dead body will be handed over to the relatives.

Sabarjit Kaur (59), a resident of Tarn Taran in Punjab, had gone to Patna to visit with her nephew and another relative. In the afternoon everyone took a flight to Amritsar by Spice Jet SG-2942 aircraft. As soon as the plane took off from Patna airport, suddenly Sabarjeet’s health deteriorated.

Difficulty in breathing, restlessness and palpitations started coming. Crew members inside the aircraft started giving first aid, but there was no relief. After this the pilot contacted ATC and sought permission for emergency landing at Babatpur airport. The landing took place at 12:30 in the afternoon.
