The controversy over the restoration of Dhundhiraj Ganesh, the first worshiper of Kashi Khand, has been settled. Mahant of Annapurna temple and Mahant of Dhundhiraj Ganesh temple have also given their consent for the renovation of the temple by the residents of Kashi. Mahant has clearly said that the renovation of the temple will be done without changing the location.

Chanda Devi, wife of Mahant of Dhundhiraj Ganesh Temple, on Saturday handed over the authorization letter for the beautification of the temple to the people of Kashi. He gave his mandate to the 11-member committee including Ajay Sharma, Upendra Vinayak Sahastrabuddhe, Santosh Patil, Rishi Jhingaran, Sanjeev Ratan Mishra. He has said in his letter that I have only half the legal right over the Dhundhiraj Ganesh temple.

The remaining half rights are with the Annapurna Temple. Therefore, keeping in view the faith of the people of Kashi and the devotees, I allow half of my part to be beautified without changing it in place and beautified according to the classical method. Mahant Shankar Puri of Annapurna Temple said that the cooperation of the people of Kashi is welcome for the renovation of the temple.
