Protests are continuing regarding the expansion of Manduri Airport in Azamgarh, UP. Now, on the lines of Delhi, the agitators are preparing to take out a parade of farmers on Republic Day. The villagers say that this is a fight between our conscience and the land. Will give life but will not give land at any cost.
The villagers are also very angry with the exercise of the district administration and have decided to launch an agitation till the airport expansion proposal is withdrawn. People say that due to the scheme of the government, farmers will lose their land as well as their houses. There will be neither food nor shelter. In such a situation, we are not going to bow down under the pressure of the administration. Will not deal with our mother earth at any cost.
The ongoing sit-in under the aegis of United Front, Save Land and Houses in Khiriya Bagh continued on the 101st day on Saturday. Addressing the dharna, the farmer-labour leaders said that it is the responsibility of all of us to lead the battle of Khirian Bagh to victory, because it will leave an impression on the workers, farmers, students and youth of the entire Purvanchal.
