Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the government is promoting women’s respect, safety and self-respect. The government has opened new doors for the welfare of women. The Central and Uttar Pradesh governments are fully committed and determined for women’s self-reliance and empowerment. Women are hoisting the flag of the country in every field. He said that with the help of mother power, the government is able to equalize the sex ratio. Women are becoming self-reliant through self-help groups. In every field, daughters have made their own identity.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government is paving the way for the progress of women, women should understand, try and come forward. Daughter and son are equal, don’t make any difference between them. Every woman of the groups should be made Ayushman card as per the rules. The trust towards women has increased in the society. Keshav Prasad Maurya was addressing the closing ceremony of ‘Nai Chetna Pahal Nivarav Ki’ program organized in the state from November 25 to December 23, 22 on the initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. The closing ceremony was organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. Apart from Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister of State for Rural Development Vijay Laxmi Gautam, Mission Director Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission C. Indumati also addressed the Gender Champion function and workshop based on gender equality by the State Rural Livelihood Mission.

The Deputy Chief Minister also administered the oath to eliminate gender based discrimination or harassment.
