Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the government is promoting women’s respect, safety and self-respect. The government has opened new doors for the welfare of women. The Central and Uttar Pradesh governments are fully committed and determined for women’s self-reliance and empowerment. Women are hoisting the flag of the country in every field. He said that with the help of mother power, the government is able to equalize the sex ratio. Women are becoming self-reliant through self-help groups. In every field, daughters have made their own identity.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government is paving the way for the progress of women, women should understand, try and come forward. Daughter and son are equal, don’t make any difference between them. Every woman of the groups should be made Ayushman card as per the rules. The trust towards women has increased in the society. Keshav Prasad Maurya was addressing the closing ceremony of ‘Nai Chetna Pahal Nivarav Ki’ program organized in the state from November 25 to December 23, 22 on the initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. The closing ceremony was organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. Apart from Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister of State for Rural Development Vijay Laxmi Gautam, Mission Director Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission C. Indumati also addressed the Gender Champion function and workshop based on gender equality by the State Rural Livelihood Mission.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya felicitated the women of self-help groups of different districts of the state, who have made remarkable achievements in the field of women’s self-reliance by conducting various activities, by presenting them certificates and symbols as gender champions. Giving information about various public welfare schemes of the Central and State Government based on women empowerment and self-reliance and gender equality, the Deputy Chief Minister said that under Beti-Bachao, Beti-Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, free gas cylinders to women, Saubhagya Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, safe While discussing schemes like Maternity Scheme, Mudra Scheme, Sewing Machine Scheme etc., he also threw light about various services being run against violence against women, Women Power Helpline, Police Assistance, Cyber Cell etc.

Minister of State Vijayalakshmi Gautam appreciated the new consciousness initiative Parivartan program and said that it will make women more empowered. He said that if the women are strong then the family will be strong, if the family is strong then the country and the nation will also be strong. Mission Director of the State Rural Livelihood Mission, C. Indumati, the organizer of the program, presented a detailed outline of the program and said that posters, candle marches, oath-taking, banners, street plays, Rangoli group meetings will be held in all the development blocks of the state and at other places. Various programs have been organized including social media to discuss gender equality. He said that women are being empowered by economic upliftment through various programs by the Livelihood Mission. The women of the group are raising their voice against any gender discrimination in the rural women of the group. To eradicate violence against women, 55 lakh 34 thousand families were oriented under gender awareness for one month. The Deputy Chief Minister also administered the oath to eliminate gender based discrimination or harassment.
