Mumbai: Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik has got relief from the special PMLA court. The court has extended the time till January 6 for his treatment in a private hospital. Malik has filed a bail plea in the Bombay High Court. His plea will be heard on January 6.
Recently, the High Court had refused immediate hearing on Malik’s petition. His bail plea was rejected by the special PMLA court. He has challenged the decision of the special court in the High Court. Malik’s bail will be heard in the High Court on January 6.
The arrest took place on 23 February
The ED had arrested Malik on February 23 this year on charges of money laundering. Since then he is in judicial custody. Due to ill health, he is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kurla. Special Judge RN Rokade, while denying bail to Malik, said the statement of Munira Plumber, the owner of Goawala compound in Kurla, was very important.
