Due to the delay in appointment, about one and a half thousand candidates selected for the posts of assistant teachers and lecturers in government secondary schools have lost Rs one lakh each. The counseling of these candidates has been done. Appointment letters are to be distributed to them in a programme, but the timing of the program is not being fixed from the government level.

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had released the result of 1342 posts of GIC Lecturer in 19 subjects in June-2022 in two phases. After this, online counseling of the selected candidates was done from 10 to 20 October. Meanwhile, under LT Grade Teacher Recruitment-2018, counseling was also done for 123 waiting list candidates in seven subjects.

In the earlier system, appointment letters were issued to the candidates as soon as the counseling was completed, but this time the candidates were told that a separate program would be organized at the government level, in which appointment letters would be distributed. It was assured that the appointment letters would be distributed by October 30, but the program could not be fixed yet and the candidates are wandering for the appointment.

In government secondary schools, assistant teacher i.e. LT grade teacher gets Rs 64500 and lecturer gets Rs 67500. Salary is due from the date of appointment. After preparing for the exam for years, the unemployed candidates got selected, but due to not getting the appointment, the pocket is still empty.

On daily basis, the candidates selected for the post of LT grade teacher are suffering a loss of Rs 2150 and the selected candidates for the post of lecturer are suffering a loss of Rs 2250. Selected candidates say that if they had got the appointment immediately after the counselling, they would not have had to bear this loss. Each candidate has got a loss of about one lakh rupees.

Convener Anil Upadhyay and President Vicky Khan of the Competitive Student Front allege that the government is not taking the matter seriously. There will be no compensation for the loss caused to the candidates due to delay in recruitment. He has demanded from the government that the selected candidates should be given appointment in the allotted schools soon.
