Industrial park will be developed in 1400 acres on the banks of Ganga from Varanasi to Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPCIDA) has identified land in 10 districts of Varanasi, Mirzapur and Prayagraj divisions. The facilities will be developed in this financial year itself. There are plans to develop four more inter-modal stations up to Prayagraj like the Ramnagar port on the banks of the Ganges. Sagar Mala project will also be speeded up by connecting industrial units with water transport from here.

The Divisional Level Investors Summit was organized at the Divisional Auditorium on Saturday. It was inaugurated by UP’s Industrial Development Minister Nandgopal Nandi. Also said that investment proposals worth Rs 1.52 lakh crore have come in Varanasi division. This is expected to provide employment to 1.91 lakh youth. There are investment proposals worth Rs 1.30 crore in Varanasi alone.

Industrial units investing in Varanasi have assured to provide employment to 1.70 lakh youth. Varanasi division is still ahead in terms of investment proposals. It was told in the Investors Summit itself that logistic park, warehouse and small and big industrial units will be established in the industrial park to be developed on the banks of Ganga. For this, the land use of the identified lands will be changed, then allotment will happen. To promote exports, a prescribed number of packaging and food processing units will also be set up in each cluster.
