Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi has suspended Bulandshahr Deputy Director of Agriculture (DD) Dipin Kumar and Mahoba District Agriculture Officer VP Singh on charges of corruption. Speaking to media persons at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday, Shahi told that Dipin had messed up the regularization of employees in the Horticulture Department during his posting in Mathura. Similarly, VP Singh’s video went viral. In this, they were demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 in the name of license renewal. On this basis, action has been taken against both.

Rabi crops area increased
Shahi also presented this year’s progress report on the occasion. He told that this time the area under rabi crops has increased in the state. The area under maize, gram, lentils, rapeseed and linseed has also increased by 3 per cent. 9.50 lakh mini kits of pulse seeds have been distributed to the farmers. He said that special work will be done in the new year to promote natural farming. At present, natural farming is being done in 1.10 lakh hectare. The new year will be celebrated as Global Millets Year.
