The government may take a decision soon on the issue of increasing the retirement age of teachers of Higher Education Department from 62 to 65 years. The government is considering several important issues such as rules and regulations for student union elections in some state universities and opening of the camp office of Directorate of Higher Education in Lucknow. Many important decisions can be taken in the meeting to be held in Lucknow on March 13 under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay.
In this meeting, filling of educational posts of State University, conducting written examination for 1017 posts of lecturer, holding departmental promotion committee meeting for UG-PG promotion of lecturer, operation of three new state universities and approval of their courses. There will also be discussion.

Promotions of graduate and post graduate principals, assistant registrars in government colleges will also be considered. There will also be discussion on establishment of regional higher education officer offices in all divisions and establishment of legal cell in Lucknow.
