UP: Income tax raids on the premises of meat exporting companies, apart from Lucknow-Bareilly, raids were also conducted in Kanpur and Unnao.

On the basis of complaints of tax evasion, the Income Tax team of Lucknow and Delhi jointly raided the locations of meat exporters in several cities including Lucknow, Unnao, Bareilly, Kanpur. The action started in the morning continued till late night. During the raid, the team found several documents related to irregularities in tax payment.
According to sources, the Income Tax team has raided Rustom Food Pvt Ltd, a company of meat trader Mohammad Salim located in Balaganj, Lucknow. Raided the place and checked the documents. The Income Tax team examined the documents at the Jajmau warehouse and office of the chemical businessman in Kanpur. The turnover of the firms has been found to be 65 crores. A large number of documents have been seized.
Two weeks ago also the Income Tax team raided the establishments of the same leather exporter Rahman Industries. The Income Tax team reached the warehouse and office of Reliance Chemical and Reliance Exim at Jajmau in the afternoon. The directors of the firm are Shadab Ahmed and Nayab Ahmed. His firm supplies chemicals to leather traders on a large scale. These chemicals are related to leather only.
Sources said that information about the expenses of the firms, sale-purchase is being collected. It is being seen that how many types of chemicals are supplied and what are their rates. Is it also exported or is it only a local supply. After two weeks, there is a stir among the businessmen due to the Income Tax action in Jajmau.
Maria also reached the locations of Frozen in Bareilly. The Income Tax team also raided the slaughter house and office and residence run by Haji Shakeel, owner of Bareilly-based meat exporter Maria Frozen. During this, the Para Military Force had cordoned off the entire premises of Shakeel. Along with the raid, the Income Tax officials seized all the phones including the landline.
