Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman, the shooter who shot Umesh Pal and constable Sandeep Nishad first, was killed in an encounter by the police in the early hours of Monday. When the force of three police stations surrounded Vijay in Gothi village, he started firing. A soldier has also got bullet injuries. In retaliatory firing by the police, Usman was hit by two bullets.
He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The killed shooter carried a reward of Rs 50,000. According to ADG Prashant Kumar, in the early hours of Monday, the police received information that the shooter involved in the Umesh Pal murder case is in the Gothi area of Usman Kaundhiyara. On information, the forces of Shankargarh, Kaundhiyara and Kheri police stations reached there and surrounded Usman.
According to the police officers, on seeing the police, Usman started firing with a pistol. A bullet hit constable Narendra in the arm. After this the police started retaliatory firing. Usman got shot in this. Police immediately took him to SRN Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
As soon as the information was received, all the officers including Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma, ADCP Akash Kulhari and DCP Yamunapar Santosh Kumar Meena reached the spot. Complete information was given by calling the top officials in Lucknow. A 32 bore pistol and some cartridges have been recovered from Vijay alias Usman.
ADG Prashant Kumar told that in the CCTV footage, Usman was seen shooting Umesh Pal and constable Sandeep. He was being searched. In the investigation it was also found that Atiq Ahmed had converted Vijay Chaudhary to Usman. The name of Usman, a resident of Bhagokar village of Kaundhiyara, was not made public by the police till now. Although he was being searched.
