The groom refused to marry after not getting a bullet bike in dowry in Pabla village of Incholi in Mawana police station area. The people of the bride’s side created a ruckus on this. The villagers took the groom and his family hostage and beat them up. When the matter caught fire, the Incholi police reached. The police freed the groom, his father, sister and sister-in-law from bondage. After five hours of tussle, Rs 2.50 lakh and the dowry items were returned.
According to the information, Aanchal, daughter of Dhanpal Singh of the village, had a relationship with Vikrant, a resident of Jalalabad in Muradnagar. The procession came on Sunday evening. The bridal party handed over the keys of the Splendor bike during the varmala. The groom got angry on this and demanded a bullet. The bride’s side promised to give a bullet bike after marriage, but the groom was not ready. Later, when the police arrived, the groom calmed down and the policemen returned.
