The dead body was hidden by lighting incense sticks in the house: did not wait for the arrival of the daughter-in-law and grandson, the cremation took place in a hurry

Questions are being raised on the role of police in the death of retired teacher Shanti Devi in Shivpur Shahbazganj of Gulriha area of Gorakhpur district. The police did not even wait for the arrival of the daughter-in-law or any other responsible person from the house. Whereas, after getting the information of the death, the grandson has also left Delhi. The police hurriedly handed over the dead body to the nephew and then the cremation was done. According to information, the maternal uncle of Shanti Devi’s daughter-in-law is in Deoria. Her brother had also reached in the evening, but the daughter-in-law could not come. On the other hand, in the application given to the police, the relative (nephew Avnish Narayan Tripathi) who wrote that Aunt Shanti Devi’s death was natural, did not live with her in that house.

In such a situation, the question arises that the dead body was lying in the house for the last four days and no relative was aware of it, then how did the death happen, how did the nephew get the exact information and the police also believed it. Secondly, once it is assumed that even if the death was natural, then why was the information not given to the police or relatives?

The police did not even try to find out the answer to this question. Police received an application and without knowing the cause of death, handed over the body without post-mortem. Now the SSP has ordered the investigation of the police surrounded by questions.

The police station did not even inform the SP about handing over the dead body

After getting information about the incident, in the evening, SP North issued a video byte saying that the post-mortem would be conducted, but it was later deleted. From this it seems that even the SP was not informed about the handing over of the dead body by the police station.

In such a big case, the police station took a decision from its own level and handed over the dead body. As soon as the dead body was found, the relatives also went for the cremation. This is the reason why when the officers came to know in the evening, an attempt was made to conduct a post-mortem, but by then the cremation had already taken place.

These questions could not be answered

  • Why did the son not inform anyone after the death of elderly Shanti
  • Is the real cause of death the injury caused by the fall or something else?
  • Death was natural, then why was the dead body hidden under the plank
  • A month ago the tenant then the wife suddenly left the house.
  • Nikhil is the father of two children, then how could he not know death

Krishna Bihari Dubey, former president of Bar Association Civil Court, said that post-mortem is necessary in case of suspicious death. The manner in which the elderly woman has died is completely suspicious. If there was a natural death, it would not have been hidden, immediate information would have been given to the relatives or the police. Hiding means, there must have been some other reason. It is not legal for the police not to conduct the post-mortem.
