Ankit Murder Case: Ankit killed the one whom he called brother-in-law, strangled him while talking, then cut into pieces and stuffed in foil

The landlord Umesh Sharma (40), who was detained for the murder of PhD student Ankit Khokhar in Ghaziabad, initially misled the police, but during strict interrogation, he revealed the entire conspiracy. He said that as soon as he came to know that Ankit had sold the ancestral property for one crore, he conspired to kill Ankit. He had also thought that after getting full one crore from the account, he would lie to Ankit’s friends and acquaintances that he was under stress and suddenly vacated the house and went far away.

Quoting from his interrogation, the police said that Umesh’s brother-in-law Pradeep and Ankit’s village is the same. Due to this, Ankit used to call Pradeep as brother. Along with Pradeep, he had come to Umesh’s house six months back. She told Umesh that she was the only child of her parents. The parents have passed away. Umesh told him that he can stay in his house. Ankit started living on rent. Umesh grew close to Ankit under the conspiracy.

So, Ankit started sharing everything with her. It was also told that he wanted to sell the ancestral property. Umesh and Pradeep were together in selling it. As soon as Ankit got one crore of the property and deposited it in the account, Umesh conspired to kill him. Under this conspiracy, he borrowed Rs 40 lakh from him. Said to do business. Ankit had faith in him, so he gave it. But, Umesh’s intention was to get the full one crore rupees. Therefore, the assassination plot was executed on 6 October.

Throat strangled while talking, cut into pieces

Umesh told that he went to Ankit’s room on October 6. He was studying. Kept talking to him. During this, his throat was strangled. He suffered for some time and then his life passed away. He had already thought that the dead body was to be thrown into pieces. For this, he had brought a saw on October 6 itself. Cut the dead body into three pieces. Packed them in white foil and kept them in the car. After he left, the wife cleaned the blood from the room.

The one who was called brother-in-law, only he knew

Ankit used to call Umesh as brother-in-law. He considered his wife as a sister. Had come home with Pradeep earlier also. He had also tied Rakhi to Umesh’s wife on the last Raksha Bandhan. He considered Pradeep like a brother. Little did he know that the people on whom he was trusting the most would become the enemies of his life.
