Taj Mahal: Taj Mahal should be opened for tourists till 10 pm, Modi government minister proposed


365 days in a year Taj Mahal should be opened under artificial light till 10 pm. At night tourists visit Taj Mahal and spend the night in the city. This will give a boost to tourism. This proposal was put forward by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice SP Singh Baghel in the meeting of District Tourism and Cultural Committee on Monday. It will be sent to the Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture through the state government.

The Union Minister of State said that if the Taj Mahal opens at night, the night culture will increase in the city. The city’s hotel industry will benefit from the overnight stay of tourists. There should be arrangement of artificial lights around the Taj Mahal. Such lights have come that insects and moths do not come. Last week, a delegation met Union Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy in this regard. Under his leadership a team of officers will come to Agra for study.

The Minister of State has also suggested to build a barrage on Yamuna river, beautify around Mahtab and develop river front along Yamuna bank from Rambagh to Dayalbagh via Balkeshwar. He said that water experts will decide whether the barrage should be built in the upper stream or in the drawn stream. BJP MLA Chaudhary Babulal, Purushottam Khandelwal, Dr. Dharampal Singh, Chhote Lal Verma, ADM City Anjani Kumar Singh and tourism department officials were present in the meeting.

Night safari made on the lines of Malaysia

Behind the Taj Mahal, there is a dense forest of Bilayati Babool on the land of Forest Department in Nagla Paima village. Minister of State Baghel said that 100 acres of night safari can be developed in this area with the help of Forest and Wildlife Department. Where wild animals can also be kept. There are such night safaris in Malaysia. On the same lines, night safari can also be developed in Agra behind Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahotsav should also be held in Sikri

The Union Minister of State has suggested to the Tourism Committee that the programs of the Taj Mahotsav to be held in February 2023 should also be organized in Fatehpur Sikri. He said that tourism in the region would benefit from such events.

Tourists will be pleased with the sound show

Apart from Taj Mahal, tourists will be able to visit Agra Fort, Sikandra, Fatehpur Sikri and Etmauddaula under artificial lights till 10 pm. Paliwal Park will also be included in this. Light and sound shows should be organized in these monuments to woo the tourists. Pro. Baghel informed that proposals for eco-tourism in Bateshwar, Shouripur and religious tourism in village Sahanpur in Fatehpur Sikri, Haveli Hanuman Temple, Kailash Temple, Mevli Khurd in Fatehabad and Mudgalpura village have also been approved by the government.
