The atmosphere in the district is hot after the abduction and murder of Anurag Pal, 9-year-old son of Bajrang Dal village unit president Mangal Pal, a resident of Pedh village in Sonbhadra district of UP. Ruckus and demonstrations continued throughout the day on Saturday. Action has been taken against surveillance cell in-charge Sajid Siddiqui, Ghorawal outpost in-charge Vanshnarayan Rai and SI SK Sonkar in the case. All three were removed and called in the police line. No one has been posted in his place yet.
Here, after the post-mortem on Saturday evening, when Anurag’s body reached the village, people were shocked. Sometime back, the villagers who vacated the road by giving a memorandum to the administrative officers sat on the main road again with the dead body. He was demanding to call DM, SP on the spot. The officers of the police-administration kept on convincing them.
People got angry after seeing the condition of the dead body
People blocked the Ghoraval-Mirzapur main road near Pedh village from 9 am in the morning and vacated the road at around 5.30 pm. Under the leadership of District President of Azad Samaj Party and Bhim Army, Ravikant Singh, the protestors handed over the memorandum related to the demands to ASP Kalu Singh and SDM Prabhakar Singh.
