Nagpur. A criminal shot dead his friend on the chest on Sunday night in Srikrishna Nagar area of Hingna. Information about the murder has come to the fore on the suspicion of immoral relations. The deceased was identified as Avinash Ashok Ghumde (32), a resident of Panchavati Park, Hingna. Police has detained 5 accused in this case. Those arrested include Deepak alias Khatya Ghanchakkar (39), Shivani Deepak Ghanchakkar (25), Pritesh Inderle, Vishal Bodke and Shubham Pudke, residents of Srikrishna Nagar.
Khatya is a resident of Godhni complex. He had created a lot of terror in Godhni and surrounding areas. Some time ago he had also fired. To escape from the police, he went to live in Hingna campus 3 months ago. He was friends with Avinash for almost 1 year. It was Avinash who got him a house in Srikrishna Nagar. Both used to meet daily. Used to drink alcohol sitting together. Avinash was also an accused along with the Haji gang in the murder of Tirupati Pol in 2012 in Ghugghus of Chandrapur.

No case was registered against Avinash after the murder but he had close friendship with many criminals including Khatya. This was the reason why Khatya stayed with him everyday. Avinash had to visit her house daily. The family members wanted him to start some business, so on Sunday Avinash along with his son-in-law Vinayak Ashtankar went to see the place to open the restaurant. Both had planned to have dinner together at night, but suddenly Avinash got a call from Khatya. Saying that he would return in a while, he reached Khatya’s house with a young man from the campus.

Two different stories are coming out regarding this episode. Hingna police is not ready to say anything. It is said that Avinash informed him about Khatya’s wife Shivani’s relationship with another person. And the second reason is that Khatya suspected an affair between Avinash and his wife. There was a heated argument between Khatya and Avinash on Sunday night. Both fought with each other. Both had fought like this earlier also. Meanwhile, Khatya asked his wife Shivani to bring the pistol. Avinash did not think that Khatya would fire on him. But as soon as Shivani brought the pistol, Khatya fired 2 bullets on the chest and escaped after locking the house along with his family and 2 companions.
Arrested from Parasia
Avinash’s family reached the spot as soon as the local youth gave information. When he went inside after breaking the lock, Avinash was seen in a blood-soaked condition. He had died. Meanwhile, the Hingna police reached the spot. On the instructions of the top officials, the crime branch also got involved in the investigation. The team of Unit-4 of Crime Branch chased the vehicle and arrested 5 people including Khatya in Parasia. Avinash has a son of 2 years. Father Ashok Ghumde is retired from rural police force. A young man named Vansh went to Khatya’s house with Avinash and is in panic after the incident. He is not giving correct information.
