The State Information Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on Tehsildar Sadabad and BDO Mursan for not providing information under the Right to Information Act (RTI). The Commission has directed the District Magistrate to deduct the fine from his salary.

Harendra Pal Singh, a resident of Jhingura village of Kotwali Chandpa, had sought information from Block Development Officer Mursan and Tehsildar Sadabad. Harendra Pal Singh appealed to the State Information Commission for not giving the information. On this matter, the State Information Commission directed the concerned Public Information Officer to give information on all points. At the same time, the Commission had called for an explanation from the concerned officers in case of non-delivery of information.

The State Information Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000-25,000 each on Tehsildar Sadabad and BDO Mursan for not providing information and not submitting its proper explanation for delay in information and non-compliance of the order passed by the Commission. The Commission has said that the penalty should be recovered from the salary of the concerned officers. Information about the recovery made from the salary should be sent to the Commission.
