Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday reviewed the preparations for Road Safety Month through video conferencing. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Muthu Kumar Swamy B, DIG RP Singh, District Magistrate Divya Mittal, Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar and other officers present at the NIC located in the Collectorate premises informed him about the preparations made in this regard.
Expressing concern over the accidents taking place on National and State Highways and Expressways, the Chief Minister directed that at least two cranes, ambulances and arrangements for patrolling should be made functional at the toll plazas of National Highways and Expressways. A trauma center should be arranged in the nearest hospital. Talking on mobile while driving and bringing awareness on over speed, people should be trained by organizing camps. Children should be made aware about road safety in primary and secondary schools, by distributing handbills etc. Instructed to remove illegal taxi or bus stands in urban areas and take effective action on overloading. He said that the ambulance personnel should be duly trained so that accident victims can be safely taken to the hospital. Directing all the District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police and other related departments, the Chief Minister said that in order to reduce road accidents in the district, coordinate among themselves and make sure to work under the Road Safety Month.
