BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to justify the 10 percent reservation given to the poor by the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this reservation will benefit the poor of different communities including Marathas and minorities of the state.
Prime Minister Modi has once again proved that he is the benefactor and protector of the poor. For the economically backward people who do not take advantage of any social reservation, the central government amended the constitution in January 2019 to provide reservation in government jobs and educational admission, which benefitted many sections of the society. This reservation was challenged in Suko, but the court in its historic judgment has upheld the reservation justifying it. This reservation is an important step in the efforts of the Modi government to help the poor.
Maratha society will also get benefit
He said that the BJP’s coalition government led by Devendra Fadnavis had given reservation in jobs and education to Maratha society by enacting a law. The Fadnavis government was successful in upholding that reservation in the High Court as well, due to which its implementation started and the youth and girls of the Maratha community started getting its benefits. However, later the Supreme Court canceled the Maratha reservation due to the mistakes and lax functioning of the Mahavikas Aghadi government.
There is currently no other reservation for the Maratha community, so this community has a chance to take advantage of the reservation implemented by the Modi government across the country for the economically backward people. Due to this reservation, the minorities and the poor of other components who are not getting the benefit of any other social reservation have also got an opportunity due to this reservation.
