Nafees Ahmed, a close aide of Mafia Atiq, who owned the Creta car used by the shooters who killed Umesh Pal, will shut down the famous restaurant Eat On. The agreement of this restaurant, which opened two years ago on a rented place opposite the Boys’ High School, is ending on Monday. Bacha Singh, brother of former MLA Anugrah Narayan Singh, the owner of this plot, has informed the restaurant manager about not extending the agreement. It has also been asked to remove the goods.
After getting the connection of the Creta car used in the murder with Nafees Ahmed, the police have taken him into custody since February 27. According to sources, Nafees had told the police during interrogation that he had sold the Creta car to Kareli’s relative Rukhsar a year ago. However, Rukhsar is also absconding since the incident. The Biryani restaurant is closed with Nafees being taken into custody.
Nafees had taken the place for the restaurant two years ago from Narendra Pratap Singh alias Bacha Singh, younger brother of former MLA Anugrah Narayan Singh. Its agreement ends on March 13. According to Bachha Singh, there will be no further renewal of the agreement for Nafees. Informing the manager of the restaurant, Arjun, has also been asked to remove utensils, chairs, tables and other items. The non-renewal of the agreement is also being linked to the fear of action being taken against Atiq’s henchmen and his associates.
