Efforts being made to prevent dengue in Prayagraj are proving to be insufficient. On Friday, 37 new cases of dengue have been found in the district after ELISA test. The number of patients in the district crossed 1000 on Friday amid increasing cases of dengue. So far this year 1014 dengue patients have been found.

Although 934 of these patients have been cured. Apart from this, 35 patients are being treated in Bailey, Calvin, SRN as well as private hospitals. At the same time, 45 patients are getting treatment at home. On Friday, anti-larva spray, pyrethrum spray, fever survey, source reduction, fogging etc. were also conducted by the Health Department. Three malaria inspectors were deputed to monitor it.

District level officers will monitor fogging-spraying

Following the High Court’s strictness on dengue outbreak, major changes have been made in the monitoring system of fogging and anti-larva spraying. The district level officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring by dividing the district into 38 sectors. Sector magistrates will inspect more than 10 lanes of their respective areas daily. After taking feedback from the people, the DM will be informed.

On the orders of the High Court, a monitoring committee has also been constituted in all the wards. DM Sanjay Kumar Khatri said that the councilor, one elite person of the ward, one woman each and advocate and doctor have been included in the committee. The DM informed that several other steps have also been taken to ensure cleanliness, fogging and anti-larva spraying.

30 special teams formed for anti larva spraying

30 special teams of three members each have also been formed by the DM. These teams will spray anti-larva at the marked places. Apart from this, fogging will also be done. People from outside the urban area have been included in this team. So that, fraud can not be done in fogging and spraying.

Fogging will be done as a campaign in seven big schools
Anti-larva will be sprayed on a large scale in seven big schools of the city. Also fogging will be done. These include Government Inter College, St Anthony, BBS School, Boys High School and College, St Joseph, Jwala Devi and Shiv Charan Das Kanhaiya Das School.

In spite of spraying and fogging, if the larvae are not left, it will also be investigated and investigated. For this, more than 50 samples were taken from different places on Friday.

List of hot spots sought from primary health centers
To control the outbreak of dengue, a special campaign will be conducted for fogging and anti-larva spraying at the identified places. The DM said that for this a list of hot spots has been sought from all the 23 primary health centers of the district.

Staff will be increased for cleaning

Following the High Court’s strictness on dengue outbreak, the administration and municipal officials held a meeting on Saturday and sought suggestions from the councilors as well. Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi, Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, who were present in the meeting, instructed to increase the number of employees for cleaning in view of the present situation.

The Divisional Commissioner also inquired about the formation of committees and other measures taken for the control of dengue as per the order of the High Court and gave necessary instructions. The Divisional Commissioner directed the officers to organize fogging, anti-larva spraying and medical camps in coordination with the councilors.

The zonal officer of the Municipal Corporation, Neeraj Singh was absent in the meeting. On this, the Divisional Commissioner sought information from the Additional Municipal Commissioner regarding the absence of the Zonal Officer. Along with this, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ratnapriya was also warned on negligence in work. DM Sanjay Kumar Khatri, Municipal Commissioner Chandra Mohan Garg etc. were present in the meeting.

Fogging and anti-larva spraying started in two shifts

After the stern stand of the High Court on negligence in the control of dengue, the teams of Municipal Corporation and Health Department have become active. The municipal corporation started fogging in two shifts from Friday. During this, District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Khatri and Municipal Commissioner Chandra Mohan Garg took stock of fogging and anti-larva spraying.

The District Magistrate and the Municipal Commissioner jointly made a surprise inspection of Matadin’s Purva Phaphamau area. There was water in the puddle of the area. There were bushes all around the puddle and a lot of garbage was also collected. An open garbage dump was also found near Basna drain. Where a huge amount of garbage was collected, which was not even known to the Regional Sanitation Inspector. On this both the officers expressed their displeasure. It is clearly visible that Sanitation and Food Inspector Shashikant Singh does not visit the area. In such a situation, the DM issued instructions to stop his salary till further orders.
