The Allahabad High Court has requested the Advocate General to personally see that the file of the old case is not being made available to the public prosecutor, due to which the case is not being heard. The court, while hearing the appeal filed by the state government, gave this order when the public prosecutor expressed his inability to argue saying that the file of the case was not available. On this, the court said that this is not the first case in which the file has not come. Most of the old case files are not available.
It is noteworthy that thousands of case files were burnt due to the fire in the Advocate General’s office. The court requested the Advocate General to look into the situation himself. This order has been given by a division bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice JJ Munir on a special appeal of the state government. The court has directed to present the original file of LT grade examination 1993 on the date of next hearing on November 9. The petitioner opposition Chandra Kant has alleged tampering with the letter.
