Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that like America’s Pima and Giza cotton, India’s cotton will be known as Kasturi in the world. An MoU has been signed between The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) and Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) to give recognition to India’s cotton.

In a two-day conference organized by the Department of Textiles at TFC, the Union Textiles Minister said that under this agreement, farmers would be trained in production and branding of high quality cotton. This product will also have a QR code on it.

Shaped the concept of five F

He said that farm to fiber, fiber to fabric, fabric to fashion and then fashion to foreign… this concept has been shaped in this conference. Several issues were discussed with exporters and entrepreneurs from Varanasi and other places. All these issues will be considered.

We are going from Kashi with the suggestions made in the conference to speed up the textile sector. Our target is to increase exports to 100 million dollars. Despite the worldwide recession, progress is visible in this sector. Two MoUs have been signed for the promotion of exports. In this, one has happened with Europe and the other with Australia.

He said that the government is constantly trying to make farmers and entrepreneurs self-reliant. A man made advisory group will be formed just like the advisory for cotton textile. Texprocil Chairman Sunil Patwari, CCI Chairman Lalit Kumar, Narendra Goenka, Dayal gave their suggestions and vote of thanks.

Piyush Goyal said that even after the ban, Chinese silk is coming to his country. The government is keeping a close watch on this. There will be a system of bar coding for its identification. In this, the standards will be fixed beforehand. In such a situation, the silk of China coming from outside can be easily identified.

Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal said that the Samarth scheme is realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a self-reliant India. Interacted with those who are benefited under the scheme. During the interaction Sakshi Jaiswal, Ali Hasan, Tarannum Parveen, Nisha Maurya, Shalini Yadav, Phoolgenda Devi from Varanasi along with two Tamil beneficiaries shared their experiences.

Textiles Ministry Secretary Rachna Shah said that preparations are on to work on the formula of Five F (Firm, Fiber, Factory, Fashion and Foreign) to revive the sluggish textile industry. Under Kashi Tamil Sangamam, industrialists associated with the textile industry presented their vision under Mission 2024 to revive the textile industry at Hastkala Sankul in Badalalpur on Thursday.

The secretary said that the target is to export 100 million garments every five years. It has to reach 500 million by 2025. Ajay Sardana of Reliance Textile said that the dress of the people has changed in the world. India has the largest production of cotton cloth. Now there is a need to introduce other textile industries along with it. There is a plan to set up large fiber production industries in Gujarat.

Earlier the participation of women in the textile industry used to be 80 to 90 percent, which has now come down to 20 percent. After agriculture, the textile industry is the one which provides maximum employment. There is a need to increase the technology to export garments from India to 500 million in the next 25 years.

KP Sharma, Joint Director, Uttar Pradesh Handloom and Textile Department, said that Uttar Pradesh has to be made a hub of handicraft products and create at least five lakh jobs in the textile sector. Dr. RK Srivastava said that research and development centers should be opened here for silk products. Told the weavers to make their products available to us, we will give them a market.

Shubhi Agarwal said that the production of wooden toys is high in Varanasi. Every day 50 people are being trained to make toys here. Kanchipuram Tamil Nadu KV Ramanathan said that while buying a Kanchipuram saree, don’t just consider it as an expense, consider it as an investment. Because, gold, silver, copper etc are used in making a saree.
