In Jhansi’s Poonch police station area, a farmer committed suicide by hanging himself over worrying about his daughter’s marriage. He used to say that now the harvest will be good…, will send off the daughter like a princess, but when the crops of sesame and groundnut were destroyed in the rain, he hanged on the gallows on Friday, dreaming of decorating the daughter’s doli. According to the information, Dayashankar (41), a resident of Poonch, used to earn a living by doing farming. He had three bighas of land, in which he had sown sesame in one bigha and groundnut in two bighas. Dayashankar has three children Shivani (20), Shiva (15) and Chhotu (12).
Dayashankar wanted to make his daughter Shivani’s hands yellow this year. He had also seen the boy. As soon as he had some money accumulated, he used to bring the items for the daughter’s wedding. While pampering the daughter, he used to say that the whole village will see, I will send off my Shivani like a princess. There will be no shortage in his marriage. I will invite the whole village.

Family members say that when the fields were flooded, Dayashankar’s tears flowed out. Dayashankar’s brother-in-law Santram and son Shiva told that financial crisis had arisen due to crop failure. In such a situation, Dayashankar was being worried about the daughter’s marriage. Dayashankar had reached a state of mental depression.
Village atmosphere sad due to farmer’s suicide
On Friday night he slept as usual. His body was found hanging in a room of the house on Saturday morning. This caused an outcry in the family. On information, the police sent the body for post-mortem. The family is in a bad condition due to the incident. The atmosphere of the village is also gloomy.
